Water Softener Dairy Farm- While water softeners are primarily designed to remove hardness-causing minerals, they can also aid in the removal of some other contaminants. For instance, iron, often present in well water, can be reduced by some water softeners in small amounts. This prevents issues like staining and off-tastes in the water. Riasc is the only main place where hard water is an issue on the peninsula. The acid descaler and +/- peracidic acid is more then enough to keep the hard water under control.
